  Notes	His early life was spent with his father on his farm, but after he had attained his majority he went to Canada and engaged in the lumbering business. After an absence of a few years he returned to Pittsford, where his parents still resided. There he bought the small farm east of Marshall Thomas', near what was called the "Four Corners," where he resided with his wife until 1852, when they bought of Abraham Owen what had formerly been known as the Mosher place, now(1886) owned by his sons Richard and Charles Burditt. ((The 1860 census Jonathan is mistakenly listed as George Burditt))
