- Ruth S. Hamsher, 83, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Dansville, passed
away Friday evening, Nov. 10, 2000 at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital
in Florida.
She was born in Sparta on Dec. 5, 1916, a daughter of Charles (Harry)
and Katie B. Kidd Kreiley. She was predeceased by her husband Ward E.
Hamsher and her siblings Howard Kreiley, Catherine Barnes, Alice
Townsend and Louise Osborn.
Ruth was a member of the Sparta Center United Methodist Church, an
associate member of the Bradenton United Methodist Church, the Royal
Hearts Circle at the King's Daughters and Sons Home and the Stony
Brook Rebekah Lodge, both of Dansville. She was a member of the
Dansville Lions Club Minstrel Show Chorus for many years.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald (Ceil) Hamsher of Englewood,
Fla. and Gerald (Sharon) Hamsher of Livonia; a daughter, Doris Jean
Shull, also of Livonia; a brother, George Kreiley of Sparta; eight
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
Friends may call Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the
Sparta Center United Methodist Church where services will be held at
the completion of calling hours. Interment will be in Oak Lawn
Cemetery, West Sparta. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home,
