Henry Birth 20 Dec 1831 Hector, Schuyler Co., New York, USA Gender Male Death 1 Mar 1917 Reynoldsville, Hector, Schuyler Co., New York, USA Burial Seneca Union Cemetery, Valois, Schuyler Co., New York, USA Notes - On March 15, 1917, there passed away at his home in Reynoldsville the last representative in the second generation of the once-prominent Henry family of Hector. Isaac W. Henry, one of the five children of Robert and Mary Henry, was born December 20, 1831. One of his sisters was the wife of a prominent physician, Horace Smith, M.D., and the other was the wife of Hon. S. M. Barker, once the representative of Schuyler County in the Assembly. In 1858 Isaac married Bianca Hager of Logan. One son was born to them. After her death he married, in 1871, Mary Whitman of Reynoldsville, by whom he had a daughter who resides with her mother.
During his active life Mr. Henry was a purveyor to the farmers’ trade. He was a dealer in agricultural implements and machinery, wagons, carriages and harness—almost everything the farmer needs in his business. When advancing years caused a retirement of his activities, he became himself a farmer. His death was due to a fall on the ice.
Affable, kind-hearted and ready to accommodate, Mr. Henry made hosts of friends and was very successful in his business, continued through half a century among his old friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity, and his lodge at Trumansburg contributed rich floral offerings for his bier. Burial was at Valois Cemetery, where rest the remains of his father and mother.
There survive him the widow and daughter, Fanny, at the home; the son, Walter J., at Trumansburg; a granddaughter, Mrs. R. V. Frost, and child, a great-granddaughter, at Buffalo.
