  Notes	Beatrice L. Wheaton, 85, passed away peacefully Sunday (May 12, 2002) at the Hornell Gardens Nursing Facility. Beatrice was born Dec. 15, 1916 in Cohocton, a daughter of Clarence and Flora (Harter) Lander. She was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII as a Yeoman 3rd Class. She married W. Merle Wheaton on June 1, 1947 in Cohocton, he predeceased her on March 10, 1995. She was a member of the Cohocton 1st Presbyterian Church and a past board member of the E.J. Cottrell Memorial Library. She is survived by a sister Donna J. Wilkins of Hornell; a nephew, Terry D. Wilkins of Cohocton; a dear friend, Linda Sick of Cohocton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, Wayland, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, with Rev. Thomas Montgomery and Rev. Dean Bembower officiating. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery, N. Cohocton. Contributions may be made to the E.J. Cottrell Memorial Library, the Cohocton 1st Presbyterian Church or the Cohocton Ambulance Corps. in memory of Beatrice L. Wheaton.
