Born in Hornell, NY on May 16, 1926, she was the daughter of James M. and Ila A. Alexander.
Predeceased by her husband Edward F. Russ in December 2009, she is survived by her five children Erin, James, Elizabeth, Jeffrey and Patricia; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was a 1944 graduate of Geneseo High School and attended SUNY Cortland before serving in the US Navy from 1951- 1954. She left the Navy to marry her “jewel” and went on to dedicate her life to raising her family. In her golden years she enjoyed traveling around the United States, as well as several places abroad.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held privately. Interment Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
