- Died of ‘confinement’ at her residence, 11 Centre Park, Rochester. Death by confinement referred to at the time was often related to childbirth. Doctors had patients stay in bed, however this could result in blood clots and other complications after a period of long confinement (some sources state postpartum confinement was 30 days or more). We may assume than that Sarah had a child born in July/August 1874.
