- Claude L. McMichael, only son of Mrs. Helen McMichael, of Rochester, died in the Homeopathic Hospital, in that city, Sunday evening, aged 28 years. He was stricken with cerebrospinal meningitis at 3 o'clock the preceding Thursday morning, became unconscious almost immediately and was removed to the hospital the same day. A trained nurse was put in charge and everything possible was done, but the case was hopeless from the start and he died three days later without regaining consciousness. Claude was born in Wayland, NY, October 30, 1876, and spent his school days in Naples; he had also resided in Canandaigua, and after moving to Rochester too a course in the Business Institute graduating with honors on May 22, 1893. The funeral was held Tuesday at 1:30pm. The casket was covered with choice flowers, the gifts of relatives and friends, and the body was laid to rest in Mt.Hope Cemetery. Besides his mother he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hattie Sleight, of Livonia; his grandmother, Mrs. Garfield, and two aunts, Mrs. George A. Brown and Mrs. John Reese, all of Naples.
