- Another Pioneer Has Passed Away
After a lingering illness of eight years Caroline McMichael entered into rest Nov. 10th at the age of 76 years at the home of her grandson, Herbert C. Linderer, 305 Hamilton Street. The deceased was born in Canadaqua county, New York, on May 1830. She came to Michigan early in Childhood where in 1848 she married George D. McMichael, residing in Brooklyn, Mich., where her daughter Adelia C. McMichael was born in the fifties. She went back to New York State where she engaged in millinery business near Rochester. Returning to Michigan in 1867 she engaged in business in Ann Arbor where in 1868 her daughter was united in marriage to Artemus D. Sindecar. She came with them this year to Superior where she resided until last January. Her daughter proceeded her to that eternal sleep just 10 months ago. Those who knew her never ceased to love her. A life of untiring unselfishness and good will to all. We can but feel that Her's was well spent. She leaves to mourn one grandson, five great-grandchildren, a son-in-law, A. D. Sindecor, and a sister, Mrs. Helen [Samantha] A. Burnham at Niagara Falls and a hose of friends. Burial took place today at Highland cemetery, from the house at two o'clock.
