- John Allen, lived in Marcellas in 1810 and 1820 census living near his father, moved to Granby near his brother Weston before 1830, appears in the 1830 and 1840 census living in Granby.
- I dont find him in the 1850 census in the area. Remained in Onondaga County.
- This is the John Allen in the 1810 census in Marcellas 20010-20100. The only other Allen in Marcellus at this time was his father George.
- John Allen and his wife Hannah, of Marcellus, sold lot 41 (50 acres) to Samuel Lamb, the town of Onondaga on 13Mar1816. Apparently was morgated from Daniel Kellogg, 3Jun1814.
- More than likely, this John is NOT the John M. Allen who had a wife Eunice and bought Lot 20 in Marcellus May 1, 1817 he being aged 31(b.1786). Sold in 1831 (John and Eunice) to L.Wilcox
- A John, who lived in Marcellus, Onondaga Co. MI and apparently was married there to Nancy Wiltsie in 1829. Their first child was born there in 1832. Family migrated to Washtenaw Co. MI in 1834, with Elizabeth, Giles and Nancy Ann being born in Freedom Twp. there.
- This is outside Saline, MI about 15 miles SW of Ann Arbor. This John is not to be confused with the John Allen who was very prominent in development of Ann Arbor
