- JUDITH YVONNE FINCH On Saturday Sept. 15, 2012, a bright light was extinguished, and the world a little darker, as Judith Yvonne Finch Brown lost her battle against breast cancer. She waged a long, hard-fought war for 3 years with grace and dignity. She is now at peace and free of pain. She was better than Wikipedia, Martha Stewart, and McGuyver combined. Anyone who knew her, at some point, would wonder how one person could be GREAT at so many, many different things and do them with kindness, patience, humor, wisdom, love and a great big beautiful smile that lit up the room. She lived life in full technicolor and never let the unknown stop her from trying something new. She was a master seamstress, cook, gardener, singer, interior designer, teacher, accountant, lobbyist, and writer, whose activities in the community touched many lives. She was a history detective that loved to travel the world to find the next ancestor on the genealogical tree. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Brown; son, Robert Brown; daughter, Elizabeth Brown; and sister, Merry Finch. A Celebration of her Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Brown family home in Red Bluff, CA. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. Please call Glenys Anderson (530) 893-1422 or Lu Fox (530) 342-0942 for details. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Orland HS Scholarship fund, in care of Glenn County Office of Education
