  Notes	Enlistment record states he was born in Hartford,CT. 1817 he was grated 160 acres of land in Illinois Territory for his service in the War of 1812. There appears to be another Abiathar Evans, living in Dutchess County, New York, born about 1787 (possibly born Hartford,CT), he married Mary ____ about 1812, and they moved to Erie Co, Penns. about 1820. He had children Henry and Edward and died soon after. His widow married William Webber, of England, and she later moved to Wisconsin (Mineral Point), she died in 1880 aged 93yrs. Her obituary gives this info (The Democrat, Mineral Point, May 28, 1880). It appears that this Abiathar may be the War of 1812 veteran, possibly a son a brother of Abiathar Evans(1742-1831). Hartford CT Connecticut Courant 1793-1798(0273.pdf -fultonhistory.com) "Run-away from the subscriber the 18th day of February, a boy about 11 years of age, named Abiathar Evens; he forbids all persons harboring said boy. Whoever will return said boy shall receive six pence reward. NATHAN CORNING, East Windsor, March 10, 1794"
