- Ethel, worked at the subscription office of F. A. Owens Publishing Co., Dansville,NY. She was housekeeper and family friend, of the Shults, for many years, until the children were all married, and then she retired. She was an active member many church groups in Hornell and Dansville and was a long time member of the Corporal Josiah Griswold Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution in South Dansville. She aided in compiling the Haynes genealogy for the Bardwell Genealogy, which was published in 1964 and 1973. Ethel was also the Henry S. Hartman Family Reunion, Historian for 35 years(1953-1988). Her hobbies included: Traveling, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She resided at the Hornell Gardens the last six years of her life.
