  Notes	KIMBEL FAMILY, of Sparta - STEPHEN KIMBEL, born 1778/1780, died 1870/1875, married Sarah Lena STRYKER, 1802/1803. Sarah was born October 4, 1786 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. They are buried in the Ashley cemetery, Springwater, New York. Stephen's stone is gone and Sarah's is broken. Stephen, Sarah and Sarah's father, Isaac Stryker, traveled from Sunbury, PA to Sparta in 1803. Isaac moved on to Lewiston, Niagara County, NY where he died. Isaac was born July 25, 1762 in Readington, New Jersey. He married Mary Slaght. They farmed near Centerville, New Jersey and he was in the Hunterdon County Militia of 1792. Isaac's father, John, and family moved to Pennsylvania before the Wyoming Messacre. Just before the attack, they moved back to New Jersey, staying there for a few years before moving back into PA. Several of Sarah's siblings moved to New York State about the same time as they did. In 1832, they moved to South Dansville. After Sarah died, Stephen lived with his youngest son, Daniel.
