- DANSVILLE - Edward Hughes, 87, of Kidd Road, passed away early
Saturday morning (Oct. 7, 2006) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in
Dansville after a short illness.
He was born on the family farm in the Town of North Dansville April 1,
1919, a son of the late James E. and Lulu Wamblold Hughes. His dear
companion of 34 years, Rita M. Barnhart, predeceased him Jan. 3, 1997.
He also was predeceased by siblings Frances Smith, Mildred Tobin and
Rosa Burns.
Ed operated a dairy farm on Kidd Road, in the Town of North Dansville
for many years. He also was a retired welder from Foster Wheeler
Energy Corp. of Dansville. He was a member of the former Dansville
Grange. He was a good neighbor and friend to many.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald (Linda Cox) DeMun, of Wayland, and
John P. (Beverly) Barnhart, of Dansville; one daughter, Kathy (Mike
Delaney) Button, of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Chris (Tina) Cox,
Michael (Susan) Cox, Mandy (David) DeMun, all of Wayland, Chris
(Heather Stanton) Barnhart, of Groveland, Jennifer Barnhart, Amber
Barnhart, both of Dansville, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Button, of Rochester,
Elvin (Linda Randall) Button, Jr., of Naples, Jason (Stephanie Sabins)
Button, of Wayland, and Beverly Button, of Mount Morris; nieces and
nephews, Marie and Martin Tobin and William Burns, all of Florida; and
one cousin, Ruth Mooney, of Rochester.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Hindle Funeral Home,
Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will take place 11 a.m.
Tuesday. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
