- HASKINVILLE - Ruby Jones of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., formerly of Haskinville and wife of the late Bernard Jones, went to meet her Lord Thursday (June 21, 2007).
She was born to the late William and Gertrude Sick in Cohocton in 1914. She is survived by her daughters, Lois (James) Karr of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Bernadine (David) Jack of Greenville, Ill.; her son, B. Royce Jones of Miramar Beach, Fla.; her brother, Raymond Sick of Victor; her seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, also her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she also was predeceased by her brother, Woodruff Sick.
She graduated from Avoca High School in 1932 and attended training class in Corning and Geneseo Normal School. She taught school and then became a partner with her husband, operating Shady Brook Farms.
A longtime member of the Haskinville Wesleyan Church, she moved to Florida following her husband's death and became an active member of Palms Presbyterian Church.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Haskinville.
