    • On December 8, 2003, a tragic event unfolded when Stanley murdered his wife, Naomi, who had recently found the strength and courage to leave an abusive marriage. He subsequently ended his own life. Naomi was an extraordinary woman, known for her compassion, resilience, and radiant spirit. Her untimely death, caused by her husband's selfish act, deprived the world of a truly luminous presence, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.

    • Stanley R. Menesini, 47, of Winnemucca, NV, passed away at his home on December 6, 2003. He was born on January 26, 1956 in Yerington, NV to Daniel and Virginia Menesini. His early years were spent in Yerington where he played numerous youth sports. Stan went on to play basketball and baseball for Yerington High before graduating in 1974.
      Stan attended Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ before moving back to Nevada to complete a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada - Reno, in 1979. After graduation, Stan moved to Winnemucca where he worked for Sierra Pacific Power Company in administration for the past 24 years.

      Stan's many passions included the outdoors. He was an avid sportsman with a love for hunting and fishing. This was evidenced by the numerous trophy mule deer, antelope, elk and caribou he displayed proudly in his home. Stan enjoyed fishing trips to Alaska and Canada and always told of stories only a true fisherman could believe. Stan also enjoyed playing a round of golf, taking numerous trips out of Nevada in search of the perfect course.

      Stan is survived by his daughter Andrea; mother Virginia; and great aunt Myrle Bennett, all of Reno; brother Jeff (Kim); niece Candice; nephew Justin of Carson City; and numerous relatives and friends who knew and loved him. Stan was preceded in death by his father, Dan.

      Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington, NV, with Pastor Tom Chism officiating. Burial will follow at the Valley View Cemetery in Yerington.
