- Emory Peters, 68, died Thursday (Apr. 5, 1984) in Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville, following a long illness.
Born in Wyoming, N.Y., he had resided in Canaseraga for 63 years and was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the Larger Parish Church in Canaseraga and served on the Board of Directors for the Allegany County Soil Conservation District. He was a member of the Canaseraga Grange and the Allegany County Farm Bureau and was a past member of the Canaseraga Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, Bess Peters; three daughters, Fern Bancroft of Angelica and Dawn Carney and Sandra Fritts of Canaseraga; two step-children, Wanda Plaisted of Webster and Lester York of Canaseraga; a brother, Alton of Chili; three sisters, Florence Coombs of Canaseraga, Beatrice Waltman of Webster and Doris Kenefick of Hornell; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Sunday in the Larger Parish Church. Burial was in Canaseraga Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Larger Parish Church or the Canaseraga Ambulance Replacement Fund, in care of the Lions Club. (GCE, April 12, 1984, p12)
