- Charles B. Hamsher, 77, of Hermantown, Minn. died Tuesday (June 23, 1992) in St. Mary's Medical Center.
Born in Dansville, he was a 1934 graduate of Dansville High School. He had been a resident of Hermantown since 1968.
Hamsher managed various officers clubs and base exchanges for the U.S. Government, retiring from the Duluth Air Base in 1969. He was an employee of Montgomery Ward Company for five years. He was also a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member of Pike Lakes Presbyterian Church where he was involved in the Men's Group and was a former member of the Session. Hamsher was also a member of the Reserve Officer Association and had been an active volunteer at Nopeming Nursing Home.
He was predeceased by his wife Leila in 1989.
Survivors include three sons, David of Dallas, Texas, Dennis of Hermantown and Douglas of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Dr. Robert Hamsher of Dansville and John of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville. (GCE, July 2, 1992, p4)
