- Sudden Death of Edmund Hartman.
Sudden and unexpected by his family and friends was the death of Edmund Hartman which occurred at half-past 6 o'clock Monday afternoon. Mr.Hartman had been ailing for some months, but lately had felt better and last Saturday did a fair day's work. The exact character of his disease is not known, but he complained of severe pain in the region of the bowels. Mr. Hartman was born in the old town of Sparta and was 46 years old the 30th of April. He was a life long resident of Dansville, a blacksmith by trade. He was an upright citizen, a conscientious man and Christian. His funeral took place at the Lutheran church at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was buried by members of the Phoenix lodge F & A M of this place, of which he was an honored member. He was also an esteemed member of the Veteran Canaseragas, who attended the funeral. A good man and valuable citizen, his loss is sadly deplored.
