He then departed for Los Angeles, Cal and from there will go to Arizona to become the assistant Superintendent of a mining enterprise. Jan 1901 - Jesse was back in Almond visiting relatives. He left last Spring intending to go to Arizona where he expected to engage in the mining enterprise. He never reached there. At St.Louis he encountered the big streetcar strike and was fortunate in getting a position with the St.Louis Traction Company as claim agent on the northern divisions of their system, which position he has since held. This position that carries with it considerable responsibility and a comfortable salary.
1910 Jesse and family are living in New Orleans and he his working as a city detective.
1936 Jesse received a badly bruised hip and sprained arm when he fell from a scaffold at the Setton garage which was being remodeled for the new home of his sons-in-law dairy business.
1940 census Jesse is living with his daughter in Ponchatoula.
