    • BELMONT — Fay Ferrin, 88, of Feathers Creek Road, died Tuesday, July 4, in the Cuba Nursing Home following a brief illness. A native of Almond, he was born Aug. 9, 1878, son of Harlan and Helen Latin Ferrin. He was engaged in farming. Mr. Ferrin is survived by two sons, Clarence of Perry and Charles of Tulsa, Okla.; four daughters, Mrs. Warren Stephens of Birdsall, Mrs. Victor Peterson of Belmont, Mrs. Henry George of Almond and Mrs. Ada Little of Canisteo; 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Richard E. Burt Funeral Home, Angelica, where friends may call 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.

      Mother Absent to Get Water at Well a Mile Away — Flames Destroy Cabin.
      Lincoln, Neb., July 25. — Fire last night destroyed the home of Fay Ferrin, a ranchman living near Provo, S. D., and three children, the oldest of whom was only 4 years old, were incinerated. The flames broke out while the mother had gone to a well a mile distant to get water.
