- DANSVILLE - Ruth E. McIntyre, 91, formerly of North Elizabeth St. in Dansville, peacefully passed away at Highland Hospital in Rochester on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, after an extended struggle with health issues.
Ruth was born in Dansville on Feb. 9, 1918, a daughter of the late LaVerne and Mollie (Kramer) Applin. On Jan. 20, 1939, she married Joseph McIntyre, who predeceased her on May 8, 1987.
Ruth was a longtime faithful member of the Dansville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing golf in the Brae Burn Ladies? Golf League. She volunteered at the ?Spice Box? gift shop at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens at her home built by her loving husband. She was dedi-cated to her family as a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Besides her parents, Ruth was also predeceased by her siblings Harold, Robert and Lillian Applin. She is survived by her children Joseph (Elizabeth) McIntyre, Terry (Julie) McIntyre and Patricia (Mark) Pascucci, all of Roches-ter; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends called Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. in Dansville, where services were held at the completion of calling hours, followed by interment at Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Online remembrances may be sent to the family at HindleFuneralHome.com.
