- Clareinda A Haynes,91,of Alba,died May 19,1991,at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire.Funeral will be 10am,Wednesday,May22,at the Alba United Methodist Church. The Revs.Gary Coates,Thomas McLane and Ben R.Haynes will officiate and burial will be in Star Township Cemetery, Alba. The former Clarinda A Andrews was born April 21,1900,in Schoolcraft,the daughter of Eugene and Eliza (Calvert)Andrews. She was married Oct.3,1925,to Benjamin Haynes in Otsego.He died in 1962. Mrs Haynes had lived in Alba since 1922 and had attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and had taught school in the Alba public school and in Marcellus area schools. She was very active in the community of Alba where she served as librarian.She was a member of the Alba United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the United Methodist Women. In that organization she had served terms as president,secretary and treasurer.She also was a member of the Tuesday Study Club. She enjoyed stamp collecting, gardening,reading and crocheting. She is survived by two sons,Jean Haynes of Alba and Warren Haynes of Coloma;two daughters Mrs Clifford(Mary Alice)Burkholder of Lansing and Ella Joan Landry of Baker,La; 17 grandchildren;24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Steve Andrews and four sisters,Florence Roberts, Lenore Cline,Rae Miller and Elma Howard. Friends may call at the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona until 9pm today.Memorials may be directed to the Alba United Methodist Church.
