- A funeral service will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m., in the Hindle Funeral Home here for David C. Sliker of 23 Morse St, who died Tuesday morning (Oct. 28, 1980) in Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville following a long illness. He was 50.
Born in Sonyea, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He was graduated from Dansville Central School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving an extended tour of duty following the outbreak of the Korean War.
He was employed by Ra-Pid-Gro Corp., in Dansville for 28 years. He was past governor of the Dansville Lodge 1130, Loyal Order of the Moose. He also served as the secretary of the Jackson Hose Co., of the Dansville Fire Department for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Marian S. Sliker; three daughters, Mrs. Sherry Nagle and Linda Sliker of Dansville, Mrs. Sarah Weidman of Canaseraga; three sons, Richard of Dansville, Thomas and Todd at home; two grandchildren; his father, Claude Sliker of Dansville; a brother, Alfred Sliker of Dansville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg.
A memorial service will be conducted in the funeral home at 8 o'clock this evening by the Moose Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas P. Reilly Medical Center, in care of Noyes Memorial Hospital business office, or to the Dansville Ambulance fund.(GCE, October 30, 1980, p4)
