- William ‘Bill’ Walker (Rockville, Indiana) born in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, August 1, 1945, passed away early Saturday morning (July 27, 2024) in Terra Haute, Indiana, at the Harrison’s Crossing Health Campus. After high school, Bill served in the U.S. Army, then helped raise his family while working as a lineman for over 20 years with the Philadelphia Electric Co. (PECo). In the mid 1990’s Bill and his wife, Kitty, moved to the Conroe, Texas area where he worked as an electrician, long-haul truck driver, and finally maintenance technician. Bill was an avid fisherman and baseball fan, especially for the Houston Astros. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, grandkids, and his dog, Ben. He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis H. Walker and Kathryn Walker (Moran); his brothers, Kenneth and Francis "Butch" Walker, and sister, Carol Ann Krout; and grandson, Joel William Burdett. He is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Kitty Walker; their children, Kathy Kovach (Greg) of Cary, N.C., Bill S. Walker (Susan) of Phila., PA, and Becky Burdett (Andrew) of Avon, IN; his brother, Daniel Walker (RoseMary) of Green Lane, PA; and his grandchildren, Melissa, Brooke, Drew, Julie, and Maribeth. Cremation has taken place. No funeral or services; interment at later date in Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, consider submitting memorial contributions to the American Heart Association in Bill’s memory.
