  Notes	FRANKLIN C. BECKWITH was born near Schuylerville, Saratoga Co., N. Y., on July 2, 1817. His parents were Jedediah and Huldah (Coleman) Beckwith, the former of whom was a farmer by occupation, and also a contractor for the building of river-dams. Among other things he built the main dam at the city of Troy, N. Y. Mr. Beckwith remained upon the home farm until he was nineteen years of age, and received a common (History of Bergen and Passaic Counties, NJ, 1882 - Page 449)
