- James Arch Lemen - Following a severe illness of about two years, James Arch Lemen passed away yesterday afternoon at his home in Bank Street. He attended Dansville High School and was employed in C. W. Parker's jewelry store prior to his enlistment in the regular cavalry in April, 1917. He Was stationed at Del Rio, Texas as a member of Troop D, 14th Cavalry. His Captain, Hugh McNair Gregory, recommended him for the Officers Training School at Waco, Texas, where he received his discharge when the armistice was signed. After the war he was employed at Conderman's Jewelry store In Hornell and later held responsible positions with the Merrill Silk Mills of Hornell, QUaltop Silk Mill of Oneonta and Oneonta Glove Company from which place he resigned because of illness which proved fatal. For the past year he and his family have resided in Bank Street, Dansville. On February 19, 1919, Mr. Lemen was united in marriage with Miss Helen Stewart of Hornell and to them were born two daughters, Alta and Ruth, all of whom survive. Deceased is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Lemen; two sisters, Mrs. William Cowdrick and Miss Ruth Lemen: six brothers, Clifford, Clinton, Tom, Harry, Richard and Leon. Mr. Lemen was a member Of Daniel Goho Post No. 87,American Legion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Lemen in Knox Street.
