- Gerry Ferrin, 67, Green River, passed away Tuesday at home. He was a resident of Green River for the past 20 years and former resident of Christmas, Ariz., and Draper, Utah. He was born on Sept. 28, 1934, in Jackson Hole, the son of the late Harvey Madison and Elaine Susan Riniker Ferrin. He attended schools in Jackson Hole. He married Mildred Ferrin, who preceded him in death, and he later married Susan Chipman in Jamestown in July of 2002. He was employed by the United States Government as an MSHA safety inspector for 16 years and retired in 1994. He also served with the United States Navy in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Ferrin of Green River; five sons, Steven Ferrin of Texas, Colin Punches and wife Michelle, Allen Punches and wife Jessie of Medford, Ore., Les Punches and wife Marian of Green River, and Richard W. Dixon Jr. and wife Phyllis of Green River; five daughters, Gaye Trahan of Centerpoint, Texas, Barb Presseler of Kerville, Texas, Katrina Couright and husband Tom of Belgium, Vicki Vesh of Casper, and Patty Donahue of California; one brother, Ronald Perrine of Rock Springs; one sister, Nancy Cheshier of Cedar Hill, Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, and one daughter, Kieron Blackburn. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the LDS First Ward Chapel, 1000 West 4th North in Green River. Military graveside services and interment will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Green River. Friends may call at the Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel, 263 East Flaming Gorge Way, Green River Thursday afternoon from 4-8 p.m. and at the church Friday morning one hour prior to services.
