  Notes	ARKPORT - Bruce J. Marvin, 68, of Oak Hill Road, passed away late Wednesday evening (Jan. 16, 2019) at home surrounded by family. Born in Hornell, Jan. 14, 1951, the son of Fred Marvin Jr. and Betty Prior Westfall, he had resided in the Arkport area his whole life. Bruce was a graduate of the Arkport Central School. On April 6, 1979 Bruce married the former Cindy Hill, who survives. He was employed 40 years for Cold Spring Construction in Akron, NY and served as a Fire Commissioner for the Arkport Fire District. Bruce enjoyed hunting, especially with his granddaughter, Brianna, trapping, restoring Allis Chalmers antique tractors, TV westerns, carpentry work, snuggling with granddaughter Emmeline and giving high fives to grandson Foster. He was a member of the Bishopville United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his father, Fred Marvin Jr.; his stepmother, Joyce Marvin; and a brother, David Burdett. He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Arkport; his mother, Betty Westfall of Arkport; a daughter, Alicia (Aamir) Shaikh of Wellsburg, NY; two sons, Brent (Amy) Marvin of Spearfish, South Dakota, and Judson Marvin of Dansville; three grandchildren, Brianna Marvin, Emmeline Shaikh and Foster Shaikh; brothers, Fred (Peggy) Marvin III, Wayne (Dana) Burdett, Mark (Edna) Burdett, and Tracy (Karen) Burdett; sisters, Mary Marvin, Catherine (Charlie) Rabico, and Wendy (Bruce) Jordan; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday (Jan. 23, 2019) at 11 a.m. at the Bishopville United Methodist Church, 8528 Bishopville Road, Arkport, NY 14807, Rev. Dena Stevens and Rev. Pam Carey officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation in Bruce's memory to the Arkport Fire Department, 6 Park Ave., Arkport, NY 14807.
