- Mrs. Alida B. Hawk, 76, of Dansville RD 1 died Sunday (May 30, 1982) in Noyes Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Penn Yan, she had lived in the Dansville area for the past 53 years. Mrs. Hawk was a retired school teacher, having worked in the Dansville District. She was a member of the Sparta Methodist Church, a member and past matron of Kate J. Jackson Court of the Amaranth and a member, and past matron and past district deputy grand matron of Deborah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hawk was a member and past noble grand of Stony Brook Rebekah Lodge of Dansville and a member of the Golden Cross of the King's Daughters. She also served as a lay member for the Methodist Church in the Hornell District.
Surviving are her husband, Edward; two sons, Gordon of Groveland and Duane of Rush; a stepson, Albert Hawk of Dansville; three grandchildren.
A service was conducted in the Chamberlin Funeral Home here Wednesday morning. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dansville Ambulance Fund. (GCE, June 3, 1982, p8)
