- DANSVILLE — Margaret P. Lemen, 88, passed away at home early Tuesday afternoon, December 11, 2018, following a short illness.
She was born in the Town of Dansville on February 20, 1930, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Ethel (Burger) Pfaff. She was also predeceased by a daughter in-law, Alice Lemen. On August 26, 1950, she was married to William R. “Bill” Lemen, who survives.
Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and friends. She would make sure to send cards to people on special occasions, whether it be a birthday or just a friendly greeting. She enjoyed inviting the neighborhood children into her home to do arts and crafts and play games. Her love of animals was evident in her care for the squirrels, deer and the neighbor’s cat which she fed, cared for and then moved in. She also enjoyed beautifying their home on Wilmot Street by working in her flower gardens and decorating the interior of their home.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, her children, Michael Lemen of Greece, Karen Ann Lemen of Roswell, GA, James Lemen of Mt. Morris, and Gregory (Lynn Fires) Lemen of Dansville, a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Lemen, and sisters Sara Drum of Cohocton, and Phyllis (Carlo) Di Bello of Garden City, NY.
Friends called Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville, where services were held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville. Online condolences may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com
