  Notes	Harmon was born in Illinois and by 1840 he was living in Oregon Territory where he became a successful merchant in Lafayette. He married Miss Nancy M. Hembree, daughter of Absalom & Nancy (Dodson) Hembree on Oct 6, 1853 in Lafayette, Oregon. Some years later about 1877, the family moved to Renton Washington. In Renton, Harmon was one of the first dry goods merchants. He started a partnership with another merchant George Tibbets and established what has been recorded as Renton's first mercantile. To this union were born ten children.. The children to survive to maturity were.. Lena Snow who died two years after her marriage to David S Morris, Harmon Snow became a sailor and was declared lost at sea in 1888, Alegnora Snow married Flint W. Martin of Yamhill Oregon and Izella Snow married Joshua A. Morris of Renton Washington, Willard Ray Snow was placed in a institution for the mentally disabled in Minnesota were he died. The others died in infancy. Harmon was ill some years before his death, his wife & children were not able to manage the business, so his interest was sold. After his death his widow married the Town Marshall Samuel J. Bogart and moved to Tacoma.
