O. C. Packard Dies Suddenly Monday Morning.
Orestes Case Packard died suddenly Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry O. Baker, in Littleville.
His demise resulted from a heart attack. He was aged 76 years.
Mr. Packard was born on March 13, 1857, at Bristol, this county, and was a flagman for 35 years at the Main street crossing of the New York Central Railroad, in Snortsville. He was a member of Knights of the Maccabees and the Railroad Veterans Association.
He leaves, besides his daughters, two sons, Nelson Packard of New Hartford, N. Y. and E. Rae Packard of Rochester; also a sister, Mrs. Charles Wheeler of Bristol and two brothers, Ralph Packard of Bristol Center and Herbert Packard of Caledonia.
The funeral services were held from, the Baker home on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. A. W. Walker of Manchester, pastor of Shortsvllle Methodist church. The interment was in the family plot in Brookside cemetery.
