- George was 28 years of age, and working on a farm for Mr. Charles Rulison. The Rulison's had gone out and while they were gone, George had gone for a swim in the pond. When he was not there they become concerned and a search party went looking for him. His body was found in the pond, the coroner Sayer was called, and said it was a case of drowning caused by cramp. One leg and one hand were badly cramped. Beside his parents he was survived by brothers and sisters as follows: Franklin L., Della, Elmer E., Mary J., Cora Mae, Emma, H. Earl, and Alice Miller.
It was reported to be 102 in the shade the week of his death.
