- Onnolee Ruth Allen, 79, of 52 Clark Street died in her home on Thursday (May 6, 2010) after a brief illness.
She was born January 1, 1931 in Hornell, the daughter of Floyd and Mildred (Gates) Thompson.
On August 4, 1951 in Garwoods, she was married to Bernard J. Allen who predeceased her on December 29, 1998.
She was agreaduate of the Canaseraga High School, Class of 1948 and the Hornell Business School, Class of 1949.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville.
Previously she was a sales clerk in the Rudolphs Jewlery store, which was later known as Charles Jewlery Store in Wellsville. And in 1986 retired from the Motor Vehicle Dept. of the Allegany County Clerk Office in Belmont after 20 years of service.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Kay (Michael) George of Wilmington, N.C., and Roxanne Beth Allen of Wellsville; step-daughter, Brandy George (Fred) Juhl of Arizona; and two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel (Stanley) Herdman of Newark; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband and sisters, Faye Clancy and Venitha Earle.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville, where services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Jerry Ward of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in teh Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
