He married Julia Sawyer, the daughter of Paul and Mehetable, at Boston on May 30, 1824. He was 31 when he died of "brain fever" and was interred in Tomb 14 at Kings Chapel Burying Ground on March 19, 1826. His wife Julia, who never remarried, died in 1863.
