Notes - After an illness of many years duration Miss Minerva M. Heller died at her home, 509 Cherry Street, yesterday morning shortly before 8 o'clock. She was afflicted with consumption, and withstood the ravages of the disease for nearly three years. During that time, she bore her suffering with the spirit in which she had cared for others dear to her. Miss Heller was born in Danville, N.Y. and was 58 years of age. She had been a resident of Rockford 27 years, and made her home with her sister, Mrs. J. F. Lander. The latter was taken ill in 1869, and was give a sister's care by Miss Heller. When Mr. Lander passed away a few years later she bestowed the same faithful attendance upon him during his long illness. Her labors made her an invalid, and since that time she had resided with her nephew, Frank C. Lander. A son could not have been more devoted to his charge than has Mr. Lander. He has been most assidious in his efforts to make her life as bright as possible, and watched by her bedside day and night, paying as well as he could, the duty he assumed for his parents' memory.
The deceased was a woman of beautiful character, of which her life is evidence. She was ever ready to help another and many will ever remember her.
Besides her nephew, Mr. Lander, she also leaves a niece, Miss Nellie Lawrence, who has also given her entire time in caring for her aunt.
The funeral will be held from the house at 10 o'clock Monday morning, Rev. W. O. Shephard, officiating.
