He graduated from Ohio Northern University with a bachelors of science degree in Education.He was a longtime math teacher in Indiana and Ohio Survivors include his loving wife, Betty L. Briggs; three children, Timothy R. Briggs, Robert W. Briggs and Julie A. Briggs Estes; four grandchildren; Kaity R. Schlegel (Estes), Lauren E. Estes, Meagan M. Estes, and Elijah J. Briggs, two great grandchildren, Louise J. Schlegel and Conrad S. Schlegel and a brother, James T. Briggs of Honeoye, NY. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Charles and Letah Briggs A Memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to: Tapestry Church | A Disciples of Christ Congregation.
