Stewart, 70 years old, wife of Adonljah F. Stewart of No. 11 Blaine Street, died early this morning at Bethesda hospital, following an illness of more then a month. Until a short time ago, the deceased enjoyed the best of health and yesterday an unsuccessful operation was attempted in order to prolong her life. She was born in the town of Canisteo and spent her early days there. More then 30 years ago she came to this city and has resided here since then. She was a member of the First Baptist church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the B. of R. T. She was widely known throughout this section and her loss will be mourned by her many friends. Besides her husband she is survived by 2 sons, Ernest and Dellno; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mabel Arwine and Miss Helen Stewart, all of this city; 1 brother, O.D. Crandall of California and 1 sister, Mrs. Sarah Harris of Canisteo. Several nieces also survive. 6 grandchildren, Catherine Stevens, Hazel Arwine, Harold Stewart, Alva Arwine, Julia Stevens and Ernestine Stewart also survive.
