Name Sophia Clemson Birth 1705 Pennsylvania, USA Gender Female Death 9 Sep 1788 Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, USA Burial Derry Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hershey, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania, USA Notes - In the name of God Amen, I Sophia Sawyer, widow and Relict of William Sawyer late of Londonderry township in the County of Lancaster in the State of Pennsylvania, yeoman, deceased, being sick and far advanced in years but of sound and disposing Mind, Memory & Understanding do make and publish this my Last Will & Testament i manner and form following, to wit: Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my son John Sawyer the sum of thirty-two pounds of Gold or Silver. Money to be paid to him in three years after my Decease. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Hannah Logan the Sum of Fifty pounds of Gold or Silver money aforesaid to be paid unto her in two years after my decease. And whereas I have already allowed & given unto my son James Sawyer the Sum of One Hundred Pounds and have also delivered up to him a bond whiich is dated in October 1777 from him to his Father for the sum of One hundred Pounds which I gave unto him my said Son James to be in some measure equal to the portion or Legatity which he expected Should have been left to him by his Fathers Will I therefore Order and direct that he my said son James shall not have nor receive anything more out of my whole Estate. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Son Benjamin Sawyer the Sum of Thirty two pounds of Gold or Silver Money. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson William Duncan the sum of Fifty pounds of Gold or Silver Money. Item. I give and Bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Sophia, Daughter of my son John Sawyer my Bed Bedstead and Furniture. Item. I give and bequeath unto my grand Daughter Mary the daughter of my son William Sawyer deceased my Chest with the Drawer under it. item. I give and bequeath unto My Grand Son William Sawyer, Son of my son Thomas Sawyer, deceased my Servant Girl Sarah Williamson to give him the remainder of Her Term of Servitude agree ability to her Indenture which he is to observe and fulfill on my part at the Expiration of said Term and all the Remainder and Residue of my whole Estate I give and Bequeath the same unto my son Benjamin Sawyer and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Said Son Benjamin Sawyer Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Sophia Sawyer the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight.
