- Charles A. Decker of Belmont, RFD 1, died Saturday at the St. James Mercy Hospital, Hornell. He had been injured in an explosion last week. He was a brother of Mrs. Blanche Travis
of West University Street. A prayer service was held at his sister's home proceeding funeral services at Phillips Creek Methodist Church, Monday. He is survived by his widow, eight
brothers and four sisters. Mr. Decker 38 years of age had attempted to thaw out the water jacket in a wood stove, the Saturday previous to his death, when there was an explosion and parts of the metal were blown about the room in the home of Sidney Coombs on Angelica-West Almond Road where Mr. Decker resided. Some of the metal struck Mr. Decker, one piece back of one ear. It is believed he was stooping down examining the stove when the explosion let go.

- Charles A. Decker Dies of Injuries Received Jan. 28
Funeral services were held in the Phillips Creek Methodist Church Monday afternoon, Feb. 6, o'clock, followed by burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont, for Charles A. Decker, 38, Belmont, R. D. 1, carpenter, who died Sunday morning in St. James Mercy Hospital, Hornell. The funeral followed family prayer service at the home of a sister, Mrs. Blanche Travis of Alfred, where the body was taken, and friends called. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Dora Hoffman Decker, a daughter, Miss Hazel Decker of Hornell; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Decker of Belmont, R.D. 1; eight brothers, Walter of Burlington, N. J., Stewart of New Florence, Pa., Elmer of Philadelphia, Raymond of Cleveland, Paul of Johnstown, Pa., Joseph of Belmont, Harry of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Oscar of Friendship; four sisters, Mrs. Belle Janakis of Pittsburgh, Miss Marie Decker of Caton, Ohio, Mrs. Beulah Kaiser of Belmont and Mrs. Blanche Travis of Alfred.
