  Notes	In Marcellus, on the 14th inst., Mrs. Hannah Burns, widow of the late Francis Burns, aged 107. (Skaneateles Columbian, Skaneateles, New York, Thursday, January 19, 1843) 1840 living in Marcellus with her daughter Polly Wiltse (John Wiltse head of household), shows in census as having a female over 100 years old. The only person over 100 in Marcellus in 1840. 1830 census with daughter Polly, census has her age between 80 and 90 (no one in the town is over 90 in the 1830 census). Putting her born after 1740, which makes more sense - lots of times when someone was over 80+ they would start to exaggerate the age and then it was assumed from then on. I doubt Hannah was 107 when she died (per her obit), probably closer to 97, still amazing for the early 1800's. Hannah's marriage records transcript shows name as Hannah Mesch. Two of her grandchildren were named Marsh (first name). So here Madian name is probably some variation of this Mesch/Marsh.
