- Ruth M. "Bobby" Hart, age 90, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
Ruth was born February 22, 1924 at 8 Morey Ave. in Dansville, a daughter of Walter & Marie (Leven) Blum. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School, Dansville Central High School and Highland Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation and becoming a registered nurse, Ruth was first employed as a pediatric nurse at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY; then at Dansville Memorial Hospital, Cornell University, the Aquinas Center, and retired as a psychiatric nurse at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell. On August 24, 1949; Ruth married Robert F. Hart; he predeceased her in 2012. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was also predeceased by a brother, William G. Blum and a sister, Flora Welch.
Ruth was a member of St. Mary's Church and was the 1st President of the church council; she was a member of the Dansville Women's Civic Club and former secretary, the Reynold's Circle and former secretary, former member of Brea Burn Women's Golf Assoc. and former secretary, and former member of the Splashmasters Art Club.
Ruth is survived by her children, Beth (David) Dixon, Joan Hart (Ron Jacobs), Daniel (Kathy Dahl)) Hart and David (Beverly) Hart; 9 grandchildren, Lynn Dixon, Laura Dixon, Cara Hansen, Catherine Duffy, Laura Kreiley, Jeremy Hart, Leesa Israel, Jennifer Hart and David Hart; 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Derrick; many nieces, nephews & cousins
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am, Monday at St. Mary's Church, Dansville. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
