Parker died Nov. 29, 1925, at his home three miles south of Blodgett Mills. He was the son of William and Elizabeth Parker, and was born in the town of Virgil, April 19, 1833, and was one of thirteen children, of whom only one survives him, Hiram Parker of this place, who is nearly 84 years old. Mr. Parker was married to Kate Simpson, who passed to the great beyond July 31, 1906. Four children were born to them, John O., and Floyd of Messengerville, Ernest of Cortland, and Glenn, who died when a small child. Besides the children he is survived by two grandchildren, Edgar Parker and Mrs. Dorothy Miller, and one great-grandchild, Beatrice Miller. The funeral was held at the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Merle E. Tebo had charge of the service. The bearers were Frank Moshler, Reuben Parker, Arthur Potter, and Dorr Lumeree. Those from out of town who attended the funeral, were Mr. and Mrs. Brown of Hoboken, Mrs. Ethel Foster of Lapeer, Mr. and Mrs. William Jenkins of Cold Brook, Mrs. Ida Cranson of Fabius. Roy Parker of Berkshire, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Davis of Messengerville, Walter Stafford of Homer, Miss Charlotte Stafford, Frank Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Parker, Bert Alvord and family of Cortland. The family are very grateful for all who in any way assisted during the sickness and death of their father, and to all who assisted at the funeral and also those who furnished flowers.
