She was vice-principal at Haverling Central School in Bath and and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She and her mother ran Brooklea Farms for seven years, taking in travelers and serving meals to help support them. She did farming and the Stewart Farm had been in the family for seven generations. She and her husband, Kenneth Spraker, continued in her father's tradition raising prize-winning Cheviot and Tunis sheep on their farm, also exhibiting the sheep throughout the United States and Canada, winning various awards and honors. She is listed in Who's Who of American Women. She was an international sheep judge, president of the American Cheviot Sheep Society and president and secretary of the Tunis Sheep Society.
