- Death of Mrs. Huldah Pemberton
Mrs. Huldah Pemnerton, widow of Alden Pemberton, died last Saturday night at the home of Mrs. Parker Hoppough in Hemlock, at the venerable age of ninety years and one day. She had made her home with Mrs. Hoppough for the past year and a half.
Mrs. Pemberton was the daughter of Henry and Huldah Wheeler Gaines and was born in South Bloomfield. In March 1860 she married William Wemett, who died in 1899. Their only child was a daughter, now Mrs. John Adams, who resides in Palmyra. Four years after Mr. Wemett's death, Mrs. Pemberton married Alden Pemberton who died nine years ago.
Besides the daughter in Palmyra and four grandchildren, Mrs. Pemberton leaves a step-son, V. H. Pemberton, of Livonia, and three step-daughters, Mrs. Bertha Doolittle and Mrs. Ddna Burroughs of Michigan and Mrs. Gertrude Wells of Livonia. She also leaves two nieces, Mrs. V. H. Pemberton of Livonia, Miss Norma Gooding of Morris Plain, N. J., and two nephews, Rodney Gooding of Albany and Ralph Gaines of Detroit. A cousin, Mrs. Harriet Chase, 86, also survives.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of a granddaughter, Mrs. Wynn Hanna, in Hemlock, the Rev. A. L. Briddon of the Livonia Congregational church officiating. Burial was made in Union cemetery, Livonia.
