- VICTOR - Kathaleen (Yarger) Lowenthal, age 57, died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Robert L. Lowenthal Jr.; two children, Megan Sterling and Max Lowenthal; five siblings, Linda (Wesley) Utter, Ronald (Jean) Yarger, Charleen Johnson, Ann (Stephen) Cochrane and Gayle (Donald) Hendershot; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Raymond) King and Katherine Vanas; uncle, Abram Yarger; aunt, Margaret Kay; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Rick Sterling; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Marjorie Lowenthal. Kathy was born in Canandaigua and was the daughter of Charles and Janice (Sleght) Yarger. She was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1971. Kathy continued her education at Monroe Community College and Nazareth College, graduating with honors, with a dual-degree in psychology and social work. She gave back to the community by volunteering at Serenity House in Victor and Victor Free Library. Friends may call tomorrow (Friday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 320 S. Pearl St., Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Serenity House, 1278 Brace Road, Victor, NY 14564; or Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 1321 E. Victor Road, Victor, NY 14564.
