  Notes	John Edson “Ed” VanDerMeid, 90 years, of 10 East Ave. Livonia died Saturday August 23, 2008 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Ed was born in Livonia, March 24, 1918 the son of Clarence and Florence Clapp VanDerMeid. He was a life long farmer, working with is his father and brother on the family farms in Avon and South Lima. Prior to fully retiring, he was employed by James Corcoran at Avon Farm Equipment. Ed served his country proudly in the US Navy during World War 2. He was a member of the Livonia Masonic Lodge, the Livonia Area Preservation and Historical Society, the Livonia United Methodist Church, and a former member of Livingston Country Club in Geneseo. He also served on the Board of Trustees at Union Cemetery in Livonia for many years. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Elizabeth C. “Betty” VanDerMeid on October 30, 2003. Ed is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law John E. “Cork” and Bonny VanDerMeid of Livonia; Ronald and Rosemary VanDerMeid of Livonia. His grandchildren, Scott, Matthew, Adam, Steven, and Kevin VanDerMeid. Brother and Sister-in-law, William and Shirley VanDerMeid of Livonia. Also his Sister-in-law, Gerry Tracy of MA and Brother-in-law Robert Chappelle of VT. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment in Union Cemetery, Big Tree Road, Livonia, New York.
