Y. - On Tuesday the funeral services of Aaron Orcutt, of West Bloomfield, were held from the Universalist church at this place. Mr. Orcutt was born in the year 1828. In 1850, when 22 years old, he married Miss Eunice Hamm. In 1872 he was elected deacon of the Universalist church of Bristol, which office he had since held. Although having to come a long distance, his seat in church was seldom vacant, only sickness keeping him away. He was not merely a church goer, but a Christian; a kind, affectionate husband and father, a neighbor ready to help or befriend a true, poor man. Living to the age of 81 years, he had passed the sacramental bread and wine to those now growing gray who in their childhood had watched him perform the same service for their parents. He leaves a wife and two children, a son, Carlyle, and a daughter, Miss M. Rebecca Orcutt. The interment was in Evergreen cemetery, Rev. George Babbitt officiating. One is gone who will be greatly missed, not only in his home but also in his church home, and his family have the heartfelt sympathy of all.
