- Abenaki Native American Indian Maiden.The Daughter of Abenaki Fur Trader and Scout Roch Manitouabewich and Outchibabanoukoueou of the Abenakis.Marie was given to the care of Olivier LeTardiff in gratitude and great respect for a bountiful hunting season. Tardiff inturn, provided Marie with a home and education to have her be instructed in the French manner by the Ursuline Nuns. She was the first of her people to enter into the Sacrament of Marriage with a French man Martin Prevost(who was a Storekeeper Clerk of the Company of the One hundredth Associates) with the blessings of the Church on November 3rd, 1644. She lived some 41 years dieing at Quebec,City.
